Don Rizzo and the bank for farmers

Alcamese (Italy) at the beginning of the 20th century, phylloxera, a plant louse, brought the grape farmers to their knees. Banks looked after their own interests, the farming families were in despair. The priest Don Guiseppe Rizzo came to the rescue with an idea to establish a bank which served the interests of the farmers and saved them from economic collapse.
